Österreichische Staatsdruckerei (Austrian State Printing House - OeSD) was founded in 1804 and has over 200 years of experience in the production of high quality security documents and identity documents for the Austrian Government and for international customers.
Our product range includes electronic and non-electronic ID Documents (passports, national ID cards, entry visas, residence permits), driving licenses, electronic vehicle registration cards and other security products like postage stamps. We are and have been producers of security documents to over 60 governments in the world. Together with our customers we design the documents, choose the optimal combination of printed security features and combine this with the newest electronic and cryptographic security features. The profound knowledge generated during the implementation of the Austrian ePassport project has been applied to the benefit of 6 international ePassport projects that have been awarded to the OeSD over the past 4 years. Each of these projects has led to a deeper expertise in all aspects of an ePassport lifecycle and systems integration project (enrolment – personalisation – border control).
The e-government business unit is concerned with the end-to-end conception and implementation of products and services in the field of high-security documents. Moreover OeSD delivers consultancy services in the field of biometrics, border control systems (including costing and tenders) and integrator services and IT security services. All documents produced by OeSD meet highest quality standards proven by a number of international certifications, awards and prizes for quality, security and innovation. OeSD is ISO 9001:2008 certified, as well as the first company in the world certified by Intergraf as a “High Security Printer” in 2003.
